Temetra Newsletter May 2006
Latest Temetra news
After a very busy few months, we're catching our breath here in Temetra and getting out another newsletter to keep you up to date with developments.
- Installing 12,000 Cyble RF AMR transponders for Kerry
- LGCSB progress on database synchronization
- Temetra Billing
Kerry have been busy installing Aquadis+ meters for the 2006 deadline. We've been automating the process of following through with the Cyble RF transponders to make their installation as error free as possible. The DAP handheld is used to configure the transponders and the insertion of the configuration data is automatically uploaded to Temetra by remote modem. This ensures correct assignments and full audit trail.
We've been up to the Local Government Computer Services Board to discuss the procedures to automate the synchronization of data between Temetra and Agresso as much as possible. Temetra has a REST API working for some time now with another customer, and we hope to introduce a similar mechanism for our Agresso customers as soon as we have the required interface from the LGCSB. More news on this as soon as we have it.
More customers are choosing Temetra billing to ease the introduction of flexible billing, without added burden of database synchronization for meters. With more activity, we're gaining more experience in how to make the billing as smooth as possible, ensuring our user experience is the best available. The biggest benefit of using Temetra for billing is the time saved by having screens that are designed around your workflow, rather than scattered among several systems and different databases.
Cork City, Mayo County Council and Laing O'Rourke
- Cork City selects Temetra for meter, AMR and billing
- Laing O'Rourke selects Temetra for Mayo DBO contract
Early this year, Cork City awarded Temetra the contract for meter management, reading system and AMR solution and billing. We're currently busy integrating Temetra into the Cork system to allow smooth transition from their legacy solution. AMR solution is based around Actaris Cyble RF, fitted on Aquadis+ meters.
Laing O'Rourke recently won Mayo County Council's Design Build Operate contract for non-domestic water metering, involving the survey, installation of meters and operation for a period of 10 years. We're delighted that Temetra was selected by Laing O'Rourke as their meter management and reading system. We look forward to a long-term relationship between the two companies and expect to make further contract announcements soon.
