Temetra Newsletter August 2005
Hanley Controls and Temetra win Kerry tender
Temetra has been selected by Kerry County Council as their meter reading and asset management system for roll-out of 11,000 non-domestic meters. Selection of Temetra, along with the latest Actaris meter and AMR, was made after detailed technical and commercial evaluation.
Commenting for Hanley Controls Clonmel, Nick Breen said "Competition was fierce for this contract, so we're particularly delighted by this win. We've invested significantly to make sure we have the best overall solution for Irish County Councils, and as the largest award to date, Kerry's decision is a vindication of that strategy."
Temetra will be used during the construction and commissioning stages to track progress and centralize information collection, and will be modified to provide direct data synchronization with Agresso, Kerry's financial system. As the most widely deployed water meter reading system in Ireland, Temetra can undertake this work in close co-operation with the Local Authorities IT departments and invest in the work to ensure smooth data flow between the different responsibilities.
Monaghan Makes Smooth Progress
Since the last newsletter when we announced initial selection,
Monaghan have already gone from an ad hoc reading system to centrally
managed data and completely computerised, using Temetra and DAP handhelds
to finish their first reading tour.
Oliver Murtagh, Project Leader for the water metering project in
Monaghan County Council, is very happy with the the smooth introduction
of Temetra as their meter reading system.
"Working with Temetra, we were able to quickly load all the information
from MapInfo and Agresso and get it centrally stored and cleaned up.
Once this was complete, the meter reading tours were very
straightforward, taking less that two weeks to read the entire county,
using all our own caretakers. We now have smooth integration to Agresso
for billing and great reporting on the water consumption in our network."
Temetra enhancements
- Improved User Interface for faster navigation
- More fields for data capture
Improved menus in the web application allow faster navigation, combined with
a fast search field on every page. This new menu also allows us to add new
features with greater flexibility than the older slider type.
New fields include state of repair for meter and chamber, category (by network), chamber surroundings
and will allow better reporting on meter stock. These fields are particularly useful for counties
installing a large number of meters, where a detailed survey will take place on each connection and
the maximum amount of information should be stored.
