Temetra Newsletter March 2004
Temetra Upgrade Successfully Completed
As outlined in our previous maintenance newsletter, we upgraded the Temetra web service during the evening of 21-Feb-2004. The transition went smoothly with no downtime during the improvements.
The improved facilities include:
- Faster equipment for better performance in all areas of the website
- Shorter network transit times for more responsive display
- Larger capacity to allow further expansion of services
All previous hosting features have been maintained - nightly backup of all data, secure (SSL) web access, 24 hour monitoring and backup generators.
Improvements to Temetra Web Application
Further improvements have been introduced to our web service in the areas of GSM loggers and Agresso integration.
- The GSM signal strength is now shown graphically with each logger to allow monitoring of GSM network quality. Improving the antenna type, and or location, will reduce the power requirements of the logger thereby extending the battery life, so collecting and analyzing this data can improve your maintenance cycle.
- Further alarms have been introduced for the GSM loggers, including missed SMS. Like other alarms within Temetra, these can be email and or SMS text messages directed at multiple personnel to ensure a timely response.
- For Local Authority customers we are now testing the latest Agresso fixed format from the LGCSB to improve meter reading integration for billing. We already have customers billing through Agresso based on Temetra reads, but this will finally allow fully electronic transfer of information. These new formats are implemented using Temetra's patented export functionality and simply appear as another download on your data export page.
