Temetra Launches Billing Module And Customer Access Website as part of its Water Metering Service to Local Authorities and Network Operators
4-Nov-2002One of the challenges of moving to volumetric charging for non-domestic water in Ireland is the production of high-quality bills clearly link the cost of water production with consumption. To encourage water conservation and leak reduction, bills need to show customers their water usage in a way that identifies water as a resource that costs money to provide, just like other utilities.
Temetra now allows customers to prepare complete bills, or additional pages to be added to existing bills, that show the historical breakdown of water consumption and any leak information collected as part of meter reading, using easily understood graphics. Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) allows water leaks and historical consumption data to be captured by the utility, but can be dificult to translate onto billing solutions. The graphics can be used for multiple meters on a single account and offer network operators full control over the printed output using Temetra's XML translation facility.
The bills are produced in EPS/PDF format that allows high-quality printing using existing processes or electronic transfer of camera ready output for large scale off-site printing and mailing.
Customer Access
In addition, on each bill or bill insert, the customer is given a PIN number that allows access to their individual billing data on the Temetra website. This shows all the graphical information associated with each meter, registration for leak alerts and printing of duplicates of any issued bills. Giving the customer access to advanced data via a custom website allows operators gain the advantages of AMR while retaining their existing billing process.
About Temetra
Temetra provides data infrastructure services to network operators to for use in conjunction with modern meter reading systems. By providing the data facilities for Automatic Meter Reading (AMR), network operators can concentrate on the use of the data available from AMR. rather than processing and extraction of that data.
